A literal quick stop

This just in: we drove over to the Elk's Club (momma's a member) in order to grab a quick bite and a round of drinks with Bearsan and Likosan. Instead, we were told that they plan to close early due to a storm that is "coming fast."

Model Search

So why was I there? Well, to make a long story short, there was a model search going on for a new agency and my company was covering it on TV (for hotels only). I'm the host of the show so I got to harass pretty people and ask them a bunch of random questions. It wad pretty cool. That's Gary (bottom pic), the camera guy an that's the mic I used to interview random people. My job can be pretty awesome sometimes.

Oh, and this was Saturday

On Saturday, I spent the day in beautiful Kaneohe. Here's a view of the mountains and the bay and cute dogs..arf!

Other awesome things

I also saw my mini-me, Salena's friend Lisa. We later went through all of my sister's birthday cards and I found a favorite card. Oh, and heres Salena's new (temporary) sleeve of tattoos that I made for her.

Ken at the party

Here's Ken with his wet, still huge fro (his hair is currently longer than mine). Then he played Captain Hook for me with an awesomely sketchy mustache ant what might be the world's smallest bun ever. He also met a mini Ken--Ricky, who's about 3 years old right now.

Salena's party

Sorry, didn't take as many pictures as I should have as an ipaparazzi but I did get a few good ones. Here's Salena with her face painted by me :)

Voila!

Flowers + feathers

I took the ink part out of the pen (~$2 for a dozen at Price Busters) stuck it next to the stem of the flower ($.79 each at Ben Franklin) and feather (pack of 4 for $3.19 at BF) and wrapped tape them. Tied a ribbon to the end of the tape (top of flower, base of feather stem) to secure and to add a finishing touch.

Supplies

Cheap pens, floral tape and a good pair of scissors.

Salena's turning 7!

My sister's birthday party is in t-minus 4 days. This year is her first party out of Chuck-E Cheese's so that means I have to bring my A-game to make sure her party is the talk of her grade all year. I want her friends to wish that they had a big sister who was as cool as me and that they want their birthday to look like Salena's.

The theme for this year's party is...."neverland." Yep, if you've been watching Disney channel with your 7 year-old sibling, you would know that Tinkerbell is soooo in right now. I would have done a fairyland theme but she's inviting boys so I had to make sure that Everyone thinks it's awesome, not just the girls.

In preparation for the big party, we've bought a few things to make functional decorations (you forget that my mom and I are all about being sustainable). I'll post as we make the favors, games and decorations in the next few days. Tonight, I spent a good 3 hours making the center piece--a flower and feather bouquet that are also pens! I'll upload pics with my next post. Enjoy!

I'm a Belieber

I just saw "Never Say Never"--that Justin Bieber movie....I'm not ashamed to say that by the end of the movie I was seriously wondering why I didn't have his album yet and why I still wasn't following him on Twitter...seriously. It was also very inspirational and made me want to learn how to play every instrument on the planet because if JB can do it, then so can I.

Go see it. Promise you'll become one of his loyal minions.

Omiyage!

Phone charm and keychain from Bear-san--Arigatou!!!

Thanks team!

That was so fun! I could definitely get used to something like this...too bad it's not my regular job.

Last stop...

Peace cafe! If you haven't been here, it's worth a look-see. It's the best vegan good around, hands down.

I could get used to this...

Right after I recover from today's conditioning class. Yay! I got to hang upside down!

The climb

Finally got to climb...I look like a monkey but less graceful

Wax on, wax off

More stretching, more conditioning...

Phew, we made it.

First up, Rambo-style conditioning...
